The Miner Mutual Aid Network will hold our next Community Table on Saturday, June 5 from 11am-1pm in the Miner Parking lot. This event marks the one-year anniversary of Miner Mutual Aid. For the last twelve months the Miner community has come together in solidarity to support each other and the greater Rosedale community. On behalf of Miner Mutual Aid, thank you! We also wish to thank our incredible partners at Serve Your City/Ward 6 Mutual Aid and Christ City Church. Together, these two organizations have contributed thousands of pounds of food, diapers, and other necessities. Please continue to support them as they are providing invaluable aid to our community. Financial Support
The Miner Mutual Aid Network is seeking financial donations to facilitate our summer Community Tables. If you wish to make a contribution you can click here. When completing your donation add a note that you wish for your donation to go toward Mutual Aid. Donations We will once again be soliciting donations for the next community table. Our needs include household cleaning supplies, diapers of all sizes, and non-perishable food. Donations can be dropped off at Miner on Friday, June 4 between 12 and 1pm. Stay tuned for more information about the next event! As always, Miner Mutual Aid can be reached at minermutualaid@gmail.com. The Principal Selection Panel met for the first time and two of the things we discussed were the survey that DCPS sent out and the idea of making a video to show candidates what we love about Miner. We would love the help of parents, guardians, teachers, staff, and community members!
First of all, please complete the survey! This will help the panel know what the greater Miner Community is looking for in the future of Miner/Miner leadership. https://bit.ly/minerpanelsurvey Second, we would love it if you could help contribute to the Miner video! We are looking for short videos from all of you about why you love Miner (or why your kids love Miner) and pictures of students, staff, families. Submissions can be sent to Ms. Coles (Shamayne.Coles@k12.dc.gov) by Friday evening. Finally, if there are any questions that you think would be helpful to ask the candidates, please feel free to share them with Ms. Coles, Bijan Verlin (Bijan.verlin@k12.dc.gov), or anyone on the panel. Thank you all for your support in this process! Miner Community,
Thank you to all who were able to join the Principal Selection Committee Meeting last night. The slide presentation from DCPS is below. If you weren't able to attend, there are still ways to share your opinion and let your voice be heard. First of all, please fill out this DCPS-sponsored survey (http://bit.ly/minerpanelsurvey). DCPS wants to know what matters to YOU when choosing our next principal. Whether you are a parent/guardian, teacher, staff, or community member, your voice matters. DCPS is also looking for parents/guardians, teachers, and staff to serve on the Principal Selection Panel. While some seats are predetermined, there are openings for additional members. If you are interested in being considered, please email Ms. Coles (shamayne.coles@k12.dc.gov) or our Community Action Team representative Bijan Verlin (bijan.verlin@k12.dc.gov). Thank you to those who participated in the anonymous survey that the PTO, LSAT, and Equity Team produced. If you would like to read the raw, unedited responses, you can do so by clicking here. We are looking forward to finding the perfect person to be the next principal of Miner Elementary, and we hope you all know how important your opinions are! The Miner Mutual Aid Network will host our next Community Table event on Saturday, May 1 from 11AM-1PM in the Miner parking lot. We will once again feature free food boxes, PPE, and other necessities for any member of the community in need.

Donations: For this event, we are focusing on household items and cleaning supplies (this includes things like sponges, soap, detergent, disinfecting spray and sanitizing wipes). We have had lots of requests for these items and hoping that once again our community can come through with donations. If you have non-perishable food, diapers, or baby wipes, we would welcome these items as well. If you would like to donate, please reach out to MinerMutualAid@gmail.com. You can also drop donations off at Miner between 12-1 on Friday, April 30. Volunteers: We need volunteers to assist with set-up, distribution, and clean-up. To register as a volunteer, please click here. Financial Donations: To make a financial donation to support our ongoing work, please head to the PTO's donation page. Support Miner Mutual Aid: We Are Stronger Together: The Miner Mutual Aid team is committed to continuing to serve for the foreseeable future. To do this will require additional financial support. If you are interested in making a contribution please consider making a donation here. We ask that you include a note with your donation indicating you intend it to support Mutual Aid. Our goal is to create connections, one person at a time, to form a network of solidarity. To achieve this goal, WE NEED YOU!
